What's a good source for type 4 engine tin? I couldn't find much in the classifieds, or on the normal sites I use for parts. I'm looking for another set up the upper cylinder covers and lower cylinder covers.

PM Karl here. He usually has a set. If not Karl than Jake Raby often has some pieces left over from the DTM conversions he does.

Or you could try www.thebusco.com
or www.bustedbus.com

germansupply.com has an excellent supply of rust-free used type 4 engine tin. some of it is listed on our site, much of it is not yet listed.

Hey Karl/whoever can help-

I too need a couple of tin pieces; according to the links they are as follows:

R. 039-119-355AU Warm Air Duct, Lower Left, Used 1979 California Only
(my bus has Cali emissions info, so I'm assuming this to be the case)

W. 021-119-356EU Warm Air Duct, Lower Right, Used 1975 to 1978 All
(I have a '79, but there's no listing for '79 lower right tin. Is this right)

Anyway, please shoot me a message if you can help me out. Thanks-

79 Cal lower tin is rough to find. I believe I have both. The right front lower is 79 only. I believe the right lower is same as 72-74 but that depends on the shape of the right front lower edge.

I have been bedridden with the flu for over a week. Hopefully this weekend I will feel better and look for 79C lower tin.
