Just have to give some props to Eric at Aircooled.net.
I'm having some timing/carb trouble with my car. I called Aircooled and
talked to Eric and he took all the time I needed for questions/interaction
even though I didn't order a darned thing from them.
I've given my business to them before and I will in the future as well.
Best Regards,
Kim |

Anybody got input about Aircooled.net? As far as I'm concerned, they rank highly. |
John C. and the crew at AC.net are one of the best vendors in the industry. Not only do they offer great products at a fair price. They're innovators and constantly try to advance the hobby.
John and Eric are regulars in this and other forums trying to help others.
VW enthusiasts should show their support by buying from vendors like AC.net, even if they can get them cheaper somewhere else. _________________ Glenn

Aircooled.net has super fast shipping and almost has everything I ever needed, I have spent alot of money there.
The reason I dont spend money there anymore is because of a couple simple emails I sent John reference some changes to my order that showed me how abrasive he is. I dont give my money to people who act like they could do without it. |

I bought an acn svda last month and had a great experience. The part arrived in great shape and the instructions were spot on.
The new stamped dizzy hold down clamp i also ordered was too tall and may have worked but my old one worked fine and the part was under $2.00 so I added it to my emergency kit.
I recomend them highly. _________________ 71 westy poptop |

I, too, have ordered a number of items from them. The biggest being my 44 idfs. Minor probs encountered but took care of myself. One thing I like is the fweembux program. I had placed an order on 29Dec05 for various small parts necessary. I wrote in their comments box to apply my FW's towards purchase price. Few days later I received my parts and noticed on the bill that the FW's were not applied. No big deal, I will email them to see whats up. Well, time got away from me and I just forgot to do that. About 1 1/2 weeks later, I notice a $6 credit to my account. No big deal, I figured it was just a refund for shipping. Yesterday I get a letter from AC.net with a receipt inside saying that the $6 was the FW's I should have used before 25Dec05. On the receipt was a note saying to be sure to use them before that date. Not mean or nasty at all. It was my fault for not doing that. I am impressed with that type of accounting that they do there.
They have earned my continued business from that day! They are an excellent place to do business with! _________________ 1967 Deluxe Sedan |

I ordered ball joint boots from Aircooled.net. Total order was less than $15.00. John took the time to call my house and let me know we could use USPS shipping cheaper. Ordered on Monday, parts by Friday. All this attention for a $15.00 order? That's class, and earns my respect. _________________ It's later than you think.

I ordered a Compufire points replacement module last Thursday. I am just getting too old to be dinking with points anymore.
The order was in Maine and in my bus on Monday night.

Some of the lesser-known stuff that John @ aircooled net does, is like the "jet exchange program" (if they still do it)
You buy some carb jets from aircooled.net.
You get them and install them.
The jets are too big/too small/whatever..
Send them back, and order another jet that is bigger/smaller.
You pay the postage, AND THAT'S IT.
If you start with a mis-jetted set of Weber carbs, you can easily go to 60-100 bucks buying jets, getting the carbs jetted just right for your engine size and application. (Try pricing Weber IDA air corrector jets and emulsion tubes, but make sure you're sitting down...)
Not with aircooled.net. Buy one set, and it's the last set you'll buy. _________________ 2003 Samba Chummie Winner- Best Story

I'd think twice before buying carburetors from aircooled.net.
While I've usually been happy with aircooled.net, I recently bought a set of carburetors from them and have had a long list of problems.
One was that I paid them $35 to "set up and adjust" the carburetors, but they apparently did no such thing. In fact, one of the carburetors arrived without a needle valve assembly, a fairly significant oversight for carbs that were "set up and adjust(ed)". I found John Connolly to be rude, defensive, and condescending telling me how happy I SHOULD be with shoddy service and even suggesting I sell my car. Having never asked for any kind of refund, he even invented a story that I "want(ed) a full refund and keep the carburetors too." I never made such a request and did not expect it.
I realize this problem isn't typical with what I've read here, or even with my previous experiences with aircooled.net or with John, but I would be remiss if I overlooked it.
I'll discuss the experience with anyone who's interested and can provide e-mails to substantiate my story. _________________ 1963 Beetle Sedan
