Sniffing around for more trivia to stuff in my brain, i stumbled onto this:

Take a look at the DJ engine specs. Does anybody know which models, in which country, had the DJ spec engine? _________________ OG JHC

I know they used that one in Germany. It is REALLY too bad it does not use lambda. It runs way rich, sadly. _________________ "Use the SEARCH, Luke" But first visit the Vanagon FAQ!

Yikes, I guess it has to run rich with 10.5 CR and no knock sensor....
Since my van is Digijet, I have looked at this engine only to realize it is a dream to think you could run it here in North America. _________________ "Use the SEARCH, Luke" But first visit the Vanagon FAQ!

this option was available in europe, fairly popular in the 16s and other syncro's..... take a look at busman.be and you'll see some of the variety |

you know, now i feel like an idiot. i had drooled over the oddballs that busman has available, and always assumed that the 112 hp engine was an inline 4 conversion. now i know different.
busman has a syncro westy conversion on offer now that has the DJ engine, with a twist. the ad blurb states that it is dual fuel- gas or LPG. hmmmmm. _________________ OG JHC
