I could use some help identifying the first two parts Picture 1 and 2. And I pulled these spark plugs out of my engine and noticed that one of them was a bit shorter. I guess its a moot point (I plan on replacing them), but I'm curious which is the correct plug or if both work.

#2 is a thermostat.

#2 is a thermostat (as already stated), #1 might be the pulley for the cable that goes to the thermostat, but it is hard to tell from the photo. The thermostat look like it is shot, it should be contracted when cold. I think the longer plug is correct, bosch W8CC or W7CC (or equivalent, do a search on spark plugs, lots of info).

#1 is the pulley for the thermostat cable.

The cable is missing off of your worthless thermostat [#2] Sad

The short plug is for a type 1 engine, not correct for your engine.
