I can't find the thread that talked about this but my car is in the paint booth and they're telling me they need to remove the door rubber to do a complete job on the doors. Where should I be looking for the replacement part? Thanks guys. _________________ John

if you aren't concerned with NOS or original style door rubber, try the set the DDB offer -- they work very well and are considerably cheaper than a NOS/German set.... _________________ póg mo thóin

I agree with blankmange on the DDB seals. They're also a heck of a lot less work to install. |

Sorry, I forgot about the DDB seals, we are putting them on a 68 Fastback after paint. Sometimes the old brain farts..... _________________ Don't think of yourself as an ugly person, think of yourself as a good looking Monkey!!!!!

Hey Blankmange! The DDB kit. Is that kit for one door or two? It looks like the better choice. Everybody else sell the Brazilian kits. Thanks _________________ John

Have any of you actually installed a set in your ride? A "hands on" blow by blow would be nice. _________________ DSD

I'll be using the DDB kit. I'll take photos and describe it as I go for whoever might be interested. _________________ John

I put them on my Fastback. Just remove the factory pinchwelt around the door. The rubber DDB seals are attached to a new pinchwelt, all you do is hammer it closed with a mallet and pinch it on where the old pinchwelt was. They fit along the curves of the door very nicely.
If you want you can use some weatherstrip adhesive, but i found that they stay on nice and tight without it. |
