I'm looking for a good used or nos sender. Failing that, does anyone know how to test a sender? Thanks. |

The 6V are the same as 12V units. I bought mine from the DDB after I started this thread last year. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=88757&highlight=sending
You can probably test yours with an ohm meter to measure resistance as the float moves. Something else to point out is to check for continuity from the take to the body to make sure the tank is grounded well. The sender relies on that ground to work properly. _________________ 71 Type 1302 Custom

Good to know. Not complaining for a minute but I think I paid around $75 for a used replacement. $25 is a great price. What if the thin wire is broken? Do you have replacement parts? _________________ 71 Type 1302 Custom

I am currently ssearching for sources for the filament and am following up on many promising leads. I have three cores right now that I am in the process of polishing the tops. Pot metal tends to tarnish and corrode after 30 years. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |
