Picked up a 70 Westy a couple of weeks ago. I had one about 15 years ago and loved it. I'm planning on a road trip in June.

Anyway, I need to pick up some body panels (back corners & bottom sides) the back side marker lights, carpet, and rubber seals for pretty much the whole thing. Who is a good supplier for those things?

The engine is pretty tight, I'm sewing my own curtains, and everything else is reasonably ok.

Thanks for your help!

Campy and I have been trying to put together a list of preferred brands for bus body panels, in the split and bay forums respectively, with little to no bites thus far. As I understand the better panels tend to come out of the UK. Some of the Klokker/Kolben whatever can be a very poor fit or even worse, right out to lunch.

I have kind of a funny comment that kind of fits here...

I bought a new grease cap for the drivers side with the hole for the speedo cable at busdepot.com because the local bap told me "We don't show a grease cap for the 70 bus". So the part at bus depot was 2.40 the funny part was the shipping was 4.60?

Just thought I should add that. Bus Depot has some great deals IMO and the site is pretty easy to navigate.

The bushaus is a great place! I have been using them solely the last 3 months to get my parts together for Cloin's next visit.
Best Regards,
John

I asked this as well...

Tried to see if the powers at be would make a "sticky" of bus parts suppliers...

I still think that would make it easier and have people stop asking the same question all the time...

(can you tell I admin another forums)... LOL!

Thank you for your replies. I'm gonna try and get it together to order the stuff in the next couple of days.

I want to get the body work done, paint, then put in the new rubber and the windows back in.

I found some really awesome condition seats from a newer bus. I'm trying to figure out how to put them in - the tracks in the other bus were spot welded in a bajillion places and I wasn't sure how to get them out without trashing them. Or do I find a spot thats comfortable driving position for me and just bolt those puppies in?

I have about 3 months and then we head south to the redwoods.

I'm getting a lot of ideas from reading this forum. Thanks again.
