Hello to all, I have another electrical question,
I bought my 1971 bus with a separate toggle switch to turn on the headlights, however I still have to pull the factory switch out to turn on the tail lights, If I hook the wire from the toggle switch up to the factory switch the headlights come on automaticlly, This boggles my mind,
Does anyone have a idea, cure, or solution?
Help me please.
Thank you in advance

Sounds like the PO might have had the same problem. I can't be much help here, but I recently had my light switch out and noticed that one of the terminals to which there was no wire connected was always hot.

The '71 and later buses had a feature that killed the headlamps when you shut off the ignition. Check your wiring diagram, YOU DO HAVE ONE DON'T YOU? to see if you have the factory switch and the factory wiring from the ignition switch over to the headlamp switch. If someone accidentally put in an earlier switch, mis-wired it, got totally pissed at no headlamps and decided to use a toggle instead!?! then you may have quite the little rat's nest under there.
