I found it on this Belgian site http://www.busman.be/ and it comes from Sweden.
Being intrigued by this model "Special", and especially the color, knowing that Tristar not never was produced in "Black", I went in my dealer VW, for their requested infos on this vehicle.
T2 TRISTAR SY L 51 TD 4+G/Mill. 1990/special Colour SCHWARZ/etc...

TRISTAR Syncro Pick-Up Doubles Cabin 1.6L TD (JX)

- Equipment of origin : Double doors back with windows sliding / Rétro Syncro / Calandre 4 headlights with headlamp washer / Per shock front out of fibre / Extensions of wings before and back / Sièges heating with balustrades and pocket postpones / 4 Doors drinks/Moquettes / Capitonnages with insulation/Dashboard upholstered with lighting empties pocket / By sun with momentary lighting / Ceinture of safety to roller in the back / additional Chauffage under the bench postpones / de-icing Rear window / And full with other things that I lapse of memory...

- Options: Color Black / Power-assisted steering / Attache tow "Triple" Siarr / opening Toit and Additional Heating "Webasto" / Hard-top Vindic opening on 3 with dimensions (tinted in the mass in Black) / Plateau of the bucket covered with plates with aluminum / Projecteur "Torch" in the bucket / Arceau with protection of rear window / rims aluminum multivan 14"

- Dimensioned Syncro: Blocking of differential before and back.

This vehicle forms part of 1500 Tristar produced by VW, including 500 in Syncro. Moreover, it is certainly single Tristar Syncro (in France?) by its color "Special". Namely that Tristar left color: Red/Blue White/. And that is "Black for it of Origin" (order "Special" at VW).

For more details and photographs, you can see it on the French site http://www.t3zone.com

Here the 1° that I saw it in Belgium !!!

Hey JR! Great pics of your SUPERB doka. Did I miss something
on T3ZONE? I don't remember photos of your truck with
the P-zwo wheels. You should push Caddy and the rest of
the French syncro crazies to post pictures of the nice vans
you have. I always found that France seems to have the
most variety of T3 models.

Bienvenue à bord.. Cool

For the rims Projektzwo it is the 1° play which was assembled while leaving the garage VW, it is for the 4X4.

OOOhhh, fender flares too. That is def. one sweet Tristar my freind, I saw it on Busman's website, very sharpe. I think they were only imported to Canada in N. America, very few stateside. I have the same tyres on my Van, one of the best improvements I have made, you will love them. Congrats, I would rock that Black Syncro like a big dog right in the Florida heat! Wink

Wasn't Van-Cafe running an ad looking for a set of those bumpers? I think they have plans of replicating them to substitute their tube bumpers. Nice truck for sure. What is the panel on the roof? Doesn't look like a sunroof...
