Can you guys tell me the best way to install an engine temp gauge and sender on my bus. I can't have that heap overheat on me! Is there anyway to remove the plastic cap next to the speedo to install a gauge it as well? _________________ 4-2-0 Theres no time to be taking your time so spark it up! |

Two screws with hex heads are holding the dummy plate on. There was a post a while back about removing the dash.
The hole will probably be bigger than the gauge. Are you going to make a hole in the plate to mount the gauge? _________________ '78 Westfalia CDN

Hey There Island Bwoy,
How goes the change over? Have you got that linkage problem figured out yet? Does it run good yet?
I have seen the CHT mounted in the clock space. Weren't pretty. Save that spot for a tach.
I mounted my gauges in the dash under the radio with the Bus Boys 3 gauge kit. OT, CHT, and OP in that order.
You could do it under the dash or on top of the dash with the VDO kit or someone elses since any 2 1/16" mounting hole will work.
Make sure you buy the sensor wiring kit for the CHT gauge and follow the instructions. The sensor mounts over by #3 cylinder where the Temp II sensor came off.
You will get it done! |
