Trans oil leak

I have a '71 Westy that is leaking trans oil out of a split open cv boot. I have never done any work on the trans and otherwise just know enough to be dangerous. How big a job is it to fix this leak and what is the procedure. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

I think you'll have to remove the CV and inspect the seals on the flange. See this article.
