the dillards aka andy griffith's "the darlins" are a phenomenal bluegrass band, lots of stuff in a and e as opposed to the run of the mill g, c, d stuff. check 'em out. _________________ 74 bay

I'll pass, YSB put me to sleep last time I saw them. Lots of trendy folks there as well.
Whatever stereotypes you draw from Phish music are truly your own. The crossover of music came when people jumped of Dead tour and onto Phish tour, as Phish was the hottest new thing in the late 80's early 90's. That's the only reason you see the "hippie" stuff you refer to. The culture simply crossed over, as did the Bays.
I simply love Phish, and followed them for 13 years and 59 shows because of the music. If you find a groove that melts your face off, you tend to stick with it. Berks and all. _________________ Lenny

i would hardly call 59 shows in 13 following them. i disagree with the whole "crossover" thing. the people who were truely fans of the Grateful dead never left to jump on the Phish bandwagon. two completely different scenes, two very different types of tunes as far as i'm concerned.i would be more willing to accept that displaced 18 year olds in 1995 who saw the dead once or twice were looking for more a nomadic musical experience. personally, if i want to hear Zappa, i'll listen to Zappa. to each his or her own. i wonder how many kids going to "Dead" shows now know who Brent is? anyways, you've inspired to listen to some tunes, Vasque Sundowners and all..... _________________ "Go smell the wind, go far. I didn't see 500+ shows because I started a family and a career. Most of those years I could only muster 6-10 shows. I call following them, and the Dead for that matter, not going to bed till 11pm to check setlists, or calling the 900 lines for setlists, or setting your alarm for 2am to see if a Dark Star surfaced or whatever else. Or trading thousands of tapes, collecting magazines & newspaper clipings, whatever it is it is. I don't think someones loyalty or knowledge of the Dead or Phish should be measured by number of shows attended.
In terms of the crossing over... I got to see a few runs where Phish and GD where in the same area (Philly, LA & Albany). I have a few good buds who are old Deadheads who certainly crossed over. Not saying anyone abandoned the Dead, just saying the culture certainly crossed over. To put it simply, it was seen in the Phish lots, and I'm not referring to the young kids.
But to each his own. The music is special in different ways for different people, my only point being GD & Phish fans had alot in common, including Westys. Deadheads need to get over that.
As for bus content.... is there actually a "correct" placement for the Red White Blue Westy decal with the horse? _________________ Lenny

What really matters is Ben & Jerrys got them both covered in ice cream
Personally I am a XXXI year old deadhead(made a handfull of shows) who just loves the music, never listened to Phish that I can recall but good for them and their fallowers.

that is a very marketable t-shirt. if only it wasnt for copyright laws I could see that shirt flying off the shelves. Some slight changes to the westfalia script and replacing the VW logo with the lightning bolt may keep you clean. It will have to stay underground otherwise.
I wouldnt mind a moss shirt, size small, 100% cotton jersey. My skin does not like poly. Good luck |

I'm not mass producing. I know about the laws. I saw them shut down stands at shows the past few years. I'm just lookin to fray some gas costs for campouts that we have lined up. We may even be in your neck of the woods at Buses of the Corn. If they want to break me down, so be it. _________________ Volkswagen Locksmith
