First of all can I say that I'm not an official mouthpiece for Alejandro but I am in regular contact with him.

Yes Alejandro can often be difficult to contact. He runs his blower resto operation as a "hobby" (maybe the wrong word) and holds down a full time job too.

Being a "blower guru" he gets a lot of emails asking rudimentary questions about supercharging that people could find answers for by searching on Google. Also emails from people think a complete Judson kit should cost $1200 and no more...they don't. Because of these time wasters he filters emails...he just doesn't have time to answer them all and work in his workshop too.

At the moment he is busily involved in making and having parts made for Speedwell Kits...making moulds for castings for MAG supercharger kits and having casts made for Shorrocks kits. On top of that he restores and supplies Judson Kits and has a waiting list for these.

As you can see he's a very busy man...if he answered all his emails he'd have little time to work on projects that I can assure you nobody else in the world is working on. As he says himself "who else makes these parts?" Relaxation time?? Everybody need that too.

The secret, if there is one is to spell out what you want in the title of the email. In this case a good one would be "Mag Supercharger Parts". That will catch his eye...once you get an answer he will follow through and you'll get your parts but you have to be patient and very probably persistant.

He's by no means unusual in this hobby...there are plenty of others who operate in much the same way.

So anyone reading this you need to know that Alejandro rations his time on the computer...don't waste his time on simple questions you could ask of The Samba or other Forums. If you seriously need parts you know nobody else produces spell it out in the title of the email....and keep trying. Smile

I'll second what John stated. I deal with Alejandro quite a bit and at times I wait a week or more for a reply.

This car that was sold to Jesse James had a mag supercharger on it, with a 356 tranny. Thing would go 50 in 2nd gear, and 70 in third!

Hi Dave, finally received my linkage from Alejandro. The photo below is all that I received. Looks different to yours, did you add/fabricate the other bits?

Thanks,

I have a number of other pictures of the mag setup on my web page:
http://www.amayesing.com/blowers.htm
but this is probably the best picture I have of a complete set (not mine).

looks the same to me, just missing a few nuts, rose joints for linkage arm and possibly the connctor for the accelerator cable. Would of thought these bits would be easy enough to get hold of.

No, that's a style used on drag bikes, etc.
Not the same as the DDS kit for a VW.
Magnacharger is still in business making Blowers for modern cars, trucks, etc.

My new OG Swiss Mag Supercharger, this is the second set I've owned/stumbled onto it by accident. Freshly reconditioned from Germany..still not sure whether to put it in the 56 lowlight. Confused

I once had the three castings shown in that picture, the 'twin elbow' and the 2 90 degree castings. I knew they were for some early VW performance kit, but had no idea. This explains why the guy who bought them couldn't pull his wallet out fast enough! I sold them for $5 each piece at the Sacramento Bug-O-Rama several years ago, at least they went to a friend Embarassed
