Hi Guys,
The PO of my 64' Kombi "customized" it by hacking out the bulkhead wall. Shocked He was very thorough so I have very little to go by in seeking a replacement. I know that there were changes made over the years in the bulkhead's design, could anyone out there tell me which years I need to look for to find the right bulkhead for my bus?

Thanks,
-Pat

You need a bulkhead from a '63 or later Bus with the "deep" spare tire well.

Getting a bulkhead from a Panel or Kombi would be the most correct as there is a slight cosmetic difference near the bottom.

The difference is the rectangle near the bottom here (removed since this went into my '63 Standard)

Thanks Everett! One more question please. Do all 63' and newer splitties have the deep spare tire well or do I need to find a panel or another Kombi to serve as a donnor?

Thank You for your Help!

All Buses. You would just want a Panel or Kombi to get the "Commercial" version of divider.

I am not 100% sure that the divider wall is the same 63-67 but I'm sure someone will post if I am incorrect.

No on Kombis.

I am not aware of any differences but they could exist.

thanks everett,

i have a 66 kombi that has the topper, that threw me off. it also has option 503 for rear ceiling cards, so that may have something to do with it.

i think westfalia "thought out of the box" over the years. they did things that sem to contridict what vw was doing at the same time. ie. white steering wheel, dash controls, etc. on kombis.

it would be interesting to see some variations on these "toppers" over the years, if there is any.
