What do you guys think of this bus?
This bus can really move on the sand! Took the first pic off of a old vacation home video. Took the second pic off of builders website Dunecustoms.com.
Dune Bus as seen at Silver Lake Sand Dunes. This dune machine uses the entire suspention from a baywindow type2. It even has the entire steering assembly and pedal assembly from the baywindow bus. It is also powered by a type4 engine. This Dune bus was built in the early 80's by Ryan Jackson.

I believe that thing was in HVW's years ago. Twelve people on the dunes and you would never have to worry about getting stuck either as you would always have a crew ther to push. Could be fun with the right people. |

I've seen that thing a bunch of times. Hey Chris, have you seen the red school bus with the HUUUGE tires cruising around up there? |

Butters, funny you ask I just happen to have a pic of that bus as well. There is also a Yellow monster school bus running around it says COOL SCHOOL on the side. They are kinda cool but they are real slow and look like they are ready to tip over at any second. You could not pay me to ride in one of those. But that VW based Dune bus can really haul ass!

Seems like that red one had a lot bigger tires on it when I seen it this year. You're right, they are big and slow. I was watching the red one trying to climb the big hill with a bunch of people inside. I don't think he was even making it halfway up the hill before he ran out of power. |
