| Yes that is the one...it kind of looked like the Barndoor that was for sale on this site a few years ago from Huntington Beach as it had repairs done in similar places....where did that one go?? I think it was $15k ......could this be the same one?? surely the BDM could shed some light on this one. |

If that's the Bus I think it is it was at Chuck D's when it came over from Europe and it was a serious disaster. Updated all over, small decklid from a '66/'67, later front clip, gas door cut in the side, rear shelf cut out, majorly boogery work everywhere you looked. It looked more like a 1962 than a Barndoor.

Okay anyone remember that barndoor deluxe that was beat to shit owned by Terry Gonzales? I remember seeing it in his back lot about 8 years ago, I think he said it came from Mexico. It looked like it was rolled and abandoned but pretty dry just beat. Its long gone but where is it.

this is the 53 that was at charlies house, i had it for a while then got rid of it locally, just bad timing or i would of had it goin by now
here is the one out of mexio
its at my shop now in the works for a customer.

The 55 Deluxe I sold a few years back is also in So Cal, I heard it is almost done now. Somewhere someone posted a pic of it when I was unloading it off the transport truck here.

i was just going thru the early photos in the barndoor gallery. lotsa cool pictures from 5 years ago. my 53, pre-jurassic days, johnny's 54, pre-babboon days, rikki's deluxe before it was on the road, everett's kombi, mercury bus when it got yanked out.
lotta stuff has changed in 5 years!

yo dudes! the black and red one is the the one i sold that was all swaped around with other junk parts that made it look non barnyish it is not at my shop, it still is around in town, then the greenish one is from mexico that is all beat up and is the one that came from banning also, this one is at my shop in orange and not japan that would be to for to comute to work everyday, hope this helps, gee wiz richard bring your vert

So who owns the one at Tony's place in Banning??
I was able to view the Beat Down Barndoor Samba from Mexico at Lenny's pre O.C.T.O party
It was around the parking lot from Lenny's shop at Tony's friends little shop in the corner...I remember that one as those stud gun pins were poking out of its back like a Chia Pet.....it was not as bad as the bus that Jay at rust box had at O.C.T.O but damn they looked they both were rolled off a cliff.....I guess anything is fixable with time.
Do they both have their correct vin tags to put a year model on them?? |
