I offered him a trade plus cash for my car (he'd have to give me some $$$) He declined saying he wanted all cash. At one time I was seriously considering buying it (before the Camaro) but I'd have to do too much work to make it the way I want. He wants more money because of the rebuilt Split motor and cable brakes etc. I wouldn't use the motor, have to upgrade the entire chassis to disc brakes/narrowed beam etc. It would be a shame to do it to that car, also I'd rather find something 1/2 the price, as I want to add my own motor etc. I'd rather pay a little less for a later Split and have money left to do what I want to it! I would also add in a 3fold ragtop and the haters would be out in force if I cut the roof on that one Very Happy

Bought this '72 for $500 driving and passed smog back in '96. Lowered it in front, got some 8 spoke empi-nocks, new interior kit, reupolstered rear seat, new front seats, paint, freshened up heads, junkyard 009 and header, new clutch. Sold it in '00 for $3200 to get married. Of course, I then got a Civic and now drive a '94 Mustang and am looking to come full circle and get into a vw again. Smile
