Looks like the same one that is on the 85 vanagon parts storage shed in the backyard. It even has a big VW logo on it. yes it is cool!!!

I have the same antenna. except some little BASTARD STOLE IT on the side of mine. Haven't got a before picture but I will definitely have a after picture when the sun shines tomorrow.

They are quite common on ebay.co.uk. I think they are around 20 gbp. I need to get round to changing mine-another job for the winter!

It's the same cowl mount antenna used in pre-67 beetles & bay window-down busses. Don't confuse it with the regular vanagon antenna that a 67+ beetle uses, this one mounts flat to the body and is available with a black or chrome base.

After a closer inspection the regular Vanagon antenna would point the staff up, while this cool one lays it on the A pillar!

Wait, the aircooled 80 vanagon had it flat to the A pillar and had a little plastic clip at the top to hold it.

i have that same antenea on the pass side of my van, my previous one had the more common mount, not sure where my van came from og out west somewhere
