Much nicer than mine.
Too bad I bought my 66 before this one came up...
and parts car... which is only a parts car because some idiot cut the roof off of it. Yours looks pretty damn good!
Put it up on hoodride.
Bet it sells on there... it would be lowered, but it would also be loved! _________________

Hell, use it as an excuse to get a seller to go to Durango.
"Come see beautiful Colorado and go home with a solid early Squareback!"
You could offer a map to local hotsprings, the best photography sites, and ghost towns to sweeten the deal. There are alot of beautiful things where you are. _________________

Those are funny. Probably true though. Just didn't think hoodride folks went out of theit hood for a car, or spent more than 500 bucks for 'em.

I will trade you a set of pans and rockers for that car. Then I will go find another set of pans. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

I have a 100% rustfree 64 sunroof notch, and it looks like a pos compared to that square. If the notch is rusty, and the square isnt, then yes, the notch is a pos compared to the square. |

Do you have any pics of the interior that you can post? I thought about buying your car when I was looking but, at the time, $3 gas made me say no. If my bug would sell I'd be interested. I think your price was higher then also. _________________ My last fortune cookie said:

If you really need to sell it, try Ebay (pardon my language ) or your local Craig's list. I'd also get some better picts like previously suggested, but I'd also represent it accurately. You don't want a buyer to back out because of something like that. Maybe wax and buff it out and detail it the best you can. If it is a driver, make it look that way in the pictures. Driveway or front yard picts are better for that than out in the farmer's field.
It looks like a really nice driver and I don't think the price you're asking is out of line. You just have to find the market that puts you in contact with those whom would want to or could spend that much for it. Be patient, and they will come. _________________ 71 Fastback (resting/rusting)

Drive the squareback until you have all necessary pieces for the notch. By then you may realize the squareback is cooler, IMO. |

Well, they might leave town for that car...
No rust and a pretty patina can go a long ways.
If you are worried about how much they may or may not pay for it, drop it down to $2,000 or fish for offers.
Your angle?
Most hoodride folks start out on a beetle. Not too many of them have type 3s...
not because they wouldn't, but because there aren't as many (especially in good shape) available.
You tell them that this car will set them apart from the rest. Everyone has a beetle...
do something different.
Just a thought.
I'm all for that square's survival. I wish it was mine. _________________

Please don't hack up that square man. I just bought my first square like a month and a half ago and would have bought yours if I had known. That thing is awsome! Like someone said earlier, make it a daily driver while you're working on the notch. There is no doubt that you should put it on ebay also if you really want to sell it. |

Thanks. btw, it was for sale, here on the samba, for the past few months. As I said, I'm not a used car salesman, and not a pusher either. It's like, here it is, it's worth what I'm askin' take it or not. No hassle, no haggle as the used car salesmen say.
This is starting to sound like the threads people start to sell stuff instead of putting it in the classifieds. I don't mean it to be that way. |

If I still lived in Loveland, Colorado, I'd consider buying it, but it is 9 months too late! |
