Picked this up a month ago. All service records and receipts from new. Just brought her a little closer to earth.

Thanks. She's a ripper car. No interior pics yet. I'll take some soon. Just as clean inside and under both lids. Has a cracked dash, but can fix that.

Its through 68. Part of Australian controlled VW demise. The Krauts like order, not rebel off shoots. Soon after this car came off, the Germans regained all controll of Oz VW-Going back to being uniform.

Nice car busser, and I like the splitty number plates, did anyone else notice that? or am I just 'seeing dead people' 
I have some of those TS badges on samba classifieds, thought someone in USA would want to sport them! Could stand for 'the samba'

Thanks for the kind words guys. The credit goes to the car of course..and more to the original owner. I was going through all the receipts for every scheduled service and you know each receipt carries the words, "use oil supplied by owner". So she was even particular about the quality of oil that went into the car. She even fitted an Empi "Slick Shift" back in 1969, so she was obviously serious about her motoring.
I was a bit hesitant to lower the car because of its originality after all these years, but it's easily reversed if I get sick of it looking the way it does. (could take a while)
You're right on the money notchboy. This one is a real "bitsa". 5 lug with drums, 12 volt...the best of everything. I quite like drum brakes, and compared to my other cars which are 59 and 66, she drives, starts and stops real well. It was first registered 69, so was right on the cusp here.
I'm in the midst of detailing her for our big show in two weeks, so I'll post some more pics soon.
Good "plate spotting" ren, (Parker Lewis). I have the original plates but according to our local authorities, can't use them for 12 months...so the ol split plates will do for now.
