Hey guys.... my VW Bus currently has P205/75R14 tires on it. I want to get like 26-29 inch tires on my ride to make it look different (and because I am making it kind of an off raod thing)....so where can I buy tires that fit my rim but are bigger around?....thanks guys!

I'm not sure anything much over 26" diameter will fit in the wheelwell... read this.... It was written for split window busses but the 14" data will pretty much apply to bay.

Also - use the tire size calculator at

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

I had 235/75/15's on a Bay before, I knew a guy in CO. that had a sweet panel and he put 235's all around on it. I don't think you could go much bigger without cuting. Watchout that your sliding dor will still open if you hack the bus and the tires stick out. I would think it would hit when opening the door?

Check out the BF Goodrich All Terrains. They make a 14 inch one that is about 27 inches in diamater. I'm considering getting a set on my 77 Westy.

All the tires are slightly different. Take a 195/75R14 tire, compute the high the measure the actual height. My advice is to tape a tape measure, consider how the suspension moves and then start looking at tires at the shop with your tape measure.

From what I've heard/asked they should fit. However I'm still not sure. They MIGHT rub a little in full wheel lock. I don't think it will be necessary to cut the wheel wells. You could always ask around here some more or even call a tire company to see if they will fit on the rim. Your stock rims should be 14x5.5 inches. I do know that the BFGs reccomend a 6-7.5" rim and the VW stock rims are 5.5 However I have heard of people running these tires on the stock rims on VW busses. If you do end up with these tires please report back to us with info on how you like them and if they fit the bus without rubbing etc......
