Howdy. Its me again. Bad news and good. My beetle just took the crapper. Yeah the idiots who installed and rebuilt the engine never set the camshaft right and two of the valve are screwed becuase of it. Moving on i wanted to redo all the fuel lines, and vaccum tubes in my 77 westy. DOes anyone know who sells entire kits? Possibly one for fuel line replacement and someone who actually sells the vaccum tubes and whatnots?
Thanks again

GoWesty.com Carrys Yakima roof racks for busses and vanagons. Just put one on my vanagon that also fits my 77 bus. They make a bracket that bolts to the fiberglass top. With this set-up you buy what you need. Dicks sporting goods also sells yakima racksbut they may have to order in what you need. |

Some of the vacuum hoses are a pain to find and I have never seen a kit that carries everything together. I suggest you simply remove the hoses and take them to a foreign auto supply store and have them matched up. Most parts stores will have several sizes and quality levels available and they usually sell them by the foot or meter. Vacuum quality hoses will harden almost immediatly if exposed to fuel or fuel vapor so make certain you actually have fuel hose if you are replacing fuel line or any of the hoses in the fuel tank evaporation systems. These are the metal hoses that run all over the inside engine compartment in your bus. The metal lines are attached together with rubber hose and these need to be fuel line quality hoses. I have found that Mercedes Benz makes the best rubber fuel line I have found. Much better than anything except for the high dollar metal braided stuff. The MB line is much better than the cloth braided stuff that VW used. Keep in mind that all the hoses are metric sizes which may not matter on the larger hoses, but they make a real difference in the smaller diameter hoses. Foreign auto supply stores usually carry all metric stuff, but other stores often carry standard and metric. |
