Vandalism

My thing has been in the family since the army had it for a brief trial period. It has remained in it's original olive green colour throughout all this time (although it has been repainted on numerous occasions) and it has been repeated vandalised on numerous times. What I am trying to figure out is this: do these bastards thrash it because of it's army colour scheme or because it is a very rare and easy target? Has anyone else any vandalism experience either with ex-army things or not?

I used to park mine (Yellow, not military) on the street in Chicago and one night someone stole the passenger door. I bought a primer door from the dealer and slipped it on. About a week later I came out and the primer passenger door had been swapped with the driver's door during the night. I'm sure it ws the thief having more fun at my expense. However, considering the total lack of security in a Thing I must admit that nothing was ever stolen or molested in all the time I parked it on the street.

I've had mine in the front a lot with no incident. Mailboxes have been knocked over,toilet paper, etc. Nothing to the thing. It doesn't have a top so anything could be vandalled or stolen.
