|

Hello everyone,
I'm in the process of building a Mayers manx dune buggy and have collected together alot of original empi parts
- original and complete Eliminator shifter
- x2 original 8" 4 lug sprintstars
- x2 original 5.5" 4 lug sprintstars
- empi red needle tacho
- empi red needle oil temp guage
- empi red needle oil pressure guage
- VDM empi/coach steering wheel (with empi horn button)
What I'm looking for now is an ORIGINAL set of manx badges (both front and rear)
So can anyone out there help me? _________________ MONKI77 |

you can get them from the manx club ( http://www.manxclub.com/ )but they will need to confirm that your car is a real meyers manx. or sometimes they pop up here or on ebay. |

I agree that the Manx Club is the way to go; I'm a member of the club, and my series 1 Manx is listed in the registry. After joining the club & registry, I got in touch with Winnie Meyers directly about my front badge. The original rear emblem is fine, but the front one was broken. They normally sell them only as a set, but I convinced her that I really didn't need both. As soon as I verified I have a genuine Meyers Manx, it opened all sorts of doors within the club - members even get better pricing on 'club store' items.
On the subject of verifying the car's heritage, I can't stress enough that you should not put Meyers badges on the buggy if it is not the real deal. That's just wrong IMO. _________________ Organized people are just too lazy to look for stuff

Thankyou people, I have had a look at the "Manx club" before but- my manx is a uk replica built using the Mel Hubbard moulds which were taken from an original Mayers Manx, I am sure Bruce Mayers knew about these replicas so does anyone reakon they will let me buy a set? _________________ MONKI77 |

I reckon not as well, but it never hurts to ask. The only advice I can offer is 'don't hold your breath.'
P.S. - Not trying to nit-pick or start a fight here, but you may want to touch up your spelling of the name "Meyers" before contacting Bruce or Winnie. _________________ Organized people are just too lazy to look for stuff

I just emailed the manx club about the badges and explained that mine is not a "real" manx so I guess its just a case of waiting now.

The club is really good at getting back to you with good info; I've always heard from Winnie Meyers directly any time I've sent any questions in the direction of the club. _________________ Organized people are just too lazy to look for stuff
