I would like to use heim joints on my tie rods but want to retain a stock steering dampener. It is on a KP/LP warrior beam 6" wider with 8" towers.

This leads to a few questions;

Suppliers of heim joints? There are plenty on the web. Anybody like a particular manufacturer? I'm assuming the size quoted on the ads is of the ball end, NOT the threaded stub.

Any ideas on how to attach a steering dampener to a tie rod w/o a stock vw tie rod end?

Failing to find a way to mount the dampener, any problems with running heims just out near the spindles, and leave the inner tie rods stock, retaining the steering dampener dropout on the RH one? I've bent plenty of outer tie rod ends, never one on the pittman arm, but I am guessing that the use of a heim on the outer end might make it harder on the inner tie rods.

I bought mine from them and they are the cheapest around and got them fast. Air craft spruce and specialties for the tubing.

I looked at the McMaster site. They had some heim joints with grease fittings, which I hadn't seen elsewhere. Didn't find the derby hat bushings that I would like to use as standoffs on the pitman and steering arms, but I'm sure I can find those.

for the damper, just use a universal truck one, they clamp onto the tie rod

I think you mean the Misalignment bushings. They should carry them, if not Mc Kenzies does.
