I've found a seemingly good deal on a 1985 weekender Westy, but when running a VIN number CarFax check, it designates it as a Kombi. The owner say he doesnt' know of any conversions done on the van.
Does anyone have insights to why this might be? Are all Weekenders considered Kombi's? |

My flaps lists my Vanagon's as Kombi models. I'm sure someone else can explain the history as to why. I wouldn't worry about it. |

Make sure the VIN's are identical (on the van and title) and that the mileage is consistent with the info on the Carfax. I don't think the terms listed by insurance companies, Carfax or EPA are accurate anyway (Westfalia, Weekender, Wolfsburg, Carat, Hannover, etc.). |

Too bad it doesn't show as a "Syncro". Those things seem to be worth their weight in gold these days. _________________ Current VW drives: 1984 Westfalia
