Built a three wheel Trike - Motorcycle front end & VW power back.
1600 Dual ported with twin Solex carburators....
Main jets = 130
Idel jets = 50
This 400 pound Trike goes through gas... like 15 MPG
Where to go now? She's tuned well and I'm thinking that I don't want to go smaller with jetting.... ?
Am I wrong to expect 40 - 50 MPG?

Just pulled mine off my Ghia today, Installed the stock manifold('74) but put on a 30mm carb. Gas mileage with the duals were at best 14mpg.

I've re-timed and re-jetted and seem to have pulled the Trike up to 25 - 30 MPG. That's probibly the best I can expect.

Still have a real flat spot at each shift or when I give it the gas quickly???
Not sure where to start with that one?????

I'm listening tho................

OH OH 9 I bet.

The best to use with this set up is a Type 3 Distributor.
Preferably a Fuel injection distributor. They have both mechanical and vacuum advance.

Yes I'm still locked in to the oh oh 9 with points removed.
I'm somehow having trouble believing that my flat spots are distributor related... I mean I get a flat spot when just barly giving any throttle....
and..................................................

I dunno? Question So what do I buy & what's the cost?

Well, a flat spot like that, I wonder how well your accelerator pumps are working?
