What are some your favorite for sale ad quotes when it comes to Vanagons? Here are a few of mine:
"It has A.C., but I do not know if it works."
"The camping gear is all there, but I have never used them, so I do not know if they work."
"I am in Texas, but the van is located in North Dakota" |

Sorry to high-jack your thread but I couldn't resist...
Here is my favorite quote:
"I use to have one of those, wish I never got rid of it"
I thought this would be for the VW marketing department
If you can figure out the dash heater controls....let us know..we can't

A few months ago I saw one of those Toyota minivans advertised as a "Toyota Vanagon". Disappointing; I was hoping someone got a 22r Toyota engine into a Vanaon... _________________ 1985 Vanagon GL / homebrew camper (daily driver)

I saw one the other day that said "Wife Wins!". I actually felt sorry for the guy. _________________ "Sometimes you have to build a box to think outside of." - Bruce (not Springsteen)

A while back someone was selling a Bus on Ebay that had undergone a "frame off restoration" looked more like a couple gallon buckets of bondo and Maaco paint job. _________________ 82 Air-cooled Westy (Lola)...My other vehicle is a subway. |

Or any vehicle of unibody or monocoque construction that has undergone a "frame-off" restoration....
I know that "frame-off" has evolved into a synonym of "nut-and-bolt", "blank-check", and "ground-up", I have to chuckle when the seller uses the term. You would think they'd know better....... _________________ '69 Mike

"Needs Nothing"
What happened to that Pink Westy Interior Ad?
That one is right on top of my list.
I still feel greasy. _________________ Happy Trails!

I like the ones that say the stove or fridge don't work and that "everyone knows they just take up space". Or AC doesn't work but I never missed it. I just saw one this morning that said "Runs great, but be advised it has not been started since last year". |

I love the "Highway miles" quote. Yeah never changed the oil and only drove it on the highway in other words. What the heck does "Adult driven" mean anyway? |

How about vanagon variants:
"vanagone"
"vanagin"
"vanagan"
When I bought my van it was listed as "this is the full weekender with all the goodies; stove, fridge, and sink" |

FOR Sale:
Adult driven 2006 Toyota Vanagin Westphalia Synchro. This is the full weekender with all the goodies; stove, fridge, and sink".
I'm selling because: wife says it has to go (aka wife- wins ya know). Also, I need money for school, and I really don’t use it anymore. That being said, it runs great, however, the camping gear is all there, but I have never used them, so I do not know if they work." I think it even had a frame off restoration done to it by the previous owner.
It is fully equipped with air-conditioning, but I do not know if it works. It leaks some coolant, but you do not need to worry because they all do that. The body is in mint condition except for some minor surface rust.
The vehicle has 567,233 original miles on the original aircooled waterboxer engine. Although this is a lot of miles there is no need to really be concerned because those miles are 90 percent highway miles. |
