How easy is it to replace the shocks on a stock 64 beetle? Can I replace the shocks at home with using non-special tools?

Here's a list of tools you'll need:

17mm wrench or socket
19mm wrench or socket
floor jack
jack stands
Maybe a can of lubricant

i just replaced the schocks on my 66 last weekend. it was very straightforward.

just a matter of removing the old ones and replacing them with the new ones. It's very easy.

Soak the bolts with PB Blaster a day or so before you start...especially the upper-front ones. Wink
