Looking for the VW in Extreme Days

I am activly looking for the VW Thing used in the movie Extreme Days. It was called the Joyota probably for legal and copyright reasons, but it is definitly a VW Thing. I believe it was a 1974, but i'm not completely sure. Let me know if you have any helpful info.

hey Marc. i'm new to the board and i'm sure you've already found your answer by now. The car in extreme days was a 74'. I love that movie. Thats the movie that i first fell in love with the Thing. Got one myself about 3 weeks ago and love it. Doin a lot of mechanical work on it though. My cars body is in great shape but it needed a tune up and stuff. This car is pretty easy to work on. Me and my dad rewired the entire electrical behind the dashboard cause mice got in and chewed at some of the wires. If you get one and need replacement parts checkout Mike Basso at Thingsunlimited.net. Thats where i'm getting my parts. Anywho, good luck in finding a Thing thats right for you.

A warning to my heathens out there who, like myself, thought about checking this movie out... Extreme Days is a Born-Again Christian movie! No disrespect to people who dig that stuff, that's cool and everything, but those of you who don't might want to save your rental money and check out the Thing in Spaceballs instead!

yeah, i'm still looking for one, but for now i'm stuck in a civic, I'm really looking for the acutual one used in the movie, but any Thing will do.
