I just got a 1973 Super Beetle and one day i went to turn my wipers on and the left oe would go up an inch pause and then go back down up an inch pause and the down. The rising and falling kept rythm with the other wiper. I live in the Northeast and there is a fir amount of snow can that be whats attributing to this problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanx Tom.

It sounds like the wiper "base" (the bottom part of the wiper arm) is loose on the pivot shaft. Should be a set screw to hold it tight. Try checking that.
