Yeah, I know that this subject has been touched before but I'm still amazed that there is absolutely no mention of type-3s in the Vintage Special. There's so many cool type 3 vintage accessories. It's like we don't even exist. The only thing the mags hate more than type 3s are type 4s.
I'll never subscribe or buy any US VW air cooled publication. |

they did have the accessory grille in the accessories article... so you can't say there is "no" type 3 info mentioned. _________________ Raul

Uhhh, maybe you should see (no pun intended) an eye doctor.
page 72- chopped top SB
page 73- nice late fasty
page 80- SB in back ground.
While neither caption has "T3" in it, they are very recognizable. Plus I consider a T3 to be "classic", not "Vintage". Do you consider any U. S., british, or ? made small economy car from 1961 "vintage"? Remember the T1 and T2 are much older designs.
btw, I had the dubious distinction of having a ride in the "vintage" '46
of Brian's.

The Black 65 bug in the Magazine is not right. I was doing 90% of the predeliveries at Cars Inc. in 1965, and the radio antenna's were never installed on the passengers side of the car. And we installed them verticle, not at an angle, like that one.
That radio was installed someplace else. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Yeah, just last night! The cover car (and article) makes up for no T3 in HotVWs' "vintage" issue. |

Oct 2007 issue, page 88. Nice '67 Fasty w/ T4 motor from Germany. A "whole" two pages. Yet the '70 KG convertible gets four as does the '54 oval. Oh, well... _________________ One man's "patina" is another man's cancer...

I got tired of the 10, 12 and 16 page advertisements, while cars get a two page spread, half the time in black and white... plus, virtually NO attention given to Type 3's....
I subscribe to VolksWorld, which has great pictorials, tech articles and coverage of shows I will probably never get to see, so there are cars and fanatics in the issues that I have never seen/heard of....and they seem to know that Type 3's exist...
HotVW's ...... no thanks.... _________________ póg mo thóin

I like this idea better. Keep it down. Sooner or later the folks that drove up the prices on Type 1s for the past 27 years are gonna find out there is another Type. |
