Just got back from a few days in the north west. Went up to Mt Baker National Forest and spend some nice time in the woods with the westy. Drove up to Mt Baker to the top where the road is still closed. Van made it up in third gear except around those really sharp hairpin curves when I had to down shift.

Hardly anyone camping, guess it is still too early in the season. Saw only two other Westy and one Van enroute. I thought there were more westys in Washington but must be hiding. We had Silver Fir CG all to ourselves and the sun even came out and was really great, a must place if you are up in that part of the world

The summer has just begun, hope everyone gets out and enjoys the great out doors...

Cheers,

Tomswesty,

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Mt. Baker area -- it's right in my backyard and, therefore, I think we take it for granted. My wife and I were talking yesterday (on the way back from a week in central OR that we should spend some of our summer camping weekends close to home -- and Silver Fir CG is on the top of our list. The campground closer to Glacier (Douglas Fir) is pretty nice too!

Thanks for the post - that looks like some nice campin'!
I've only gone to Baker in the winter for snowboarding but looks like it's time to try it out in the summer.
