having idle problems!

I have a 1641 motor with kadrons. My point gap is correct and it is timed correctly. I set my idle about 900 rpm. Now the problem is when I am coming to a stop and I put it in neutral, it idles a little higher than what I set it at. It idles just a little over 1,000rpm. But when I press the gas very lightly and quickly it drops back down to where i set it at in the first place. Could it be an air leak somewhere? and if so would this cause the problem?? thanks for anyone who helps me. Mike

Sound to me like your linkage needs to be adjusted or lubed. Linkage adjustment is a big part of dual carb adjustment.
