I have totally restored my 69 bus everything and done it ALL myself. Just never been good with the Electric part of it, But did it. Having a few problems.

2nd battery on 2nd alternator not charging.
Belt turns no slipping.
4 spots on the back of Alt. for wires. big post for wire going to battery.
and 3 other wires, one red one, a brown one, one brown with white stripe.
Labeled
post B
small red wire S
brown wire F
and brown w/ white stripe is L
besides the post wire going to the battery where do the other 3 wires go?

I have nothing going to the red or the brown w/ white stripe wires and the other brown wire is hooked to a L.E.D light going to the coil hooked to the neg.- side with the condensor and the other green wires.
Battery not charging are all the wires hooked up correct?
Still tring to figure out how to post pics.[/url]

I am kind of new here.

Could you explain to me why you think you need 2 alternators?

Applause Never seen two alternators... but I suppose its possible to charge two batteries....but unnecessary strain on the engine.

Maybe you need one of those battery switching thingy's....forget what its called.

Sounds like you have a Motorola alternator from a bug??

If yes, you need the harness AND voltage regulator from the bug it came out of.

Here is the top of the Motorola alternator w/external regulator:

Does your alternator resemble this?

Get a dual battery relay from busdepot.com. That's where I got mine. $25, and (I would guess) a bit less strain on your engine. How 'bout some pics of that...where is there room for two alternators?

Sure would like to see pics of your setup. If there's room for a compressor, there's room for another alternator. Do you have a double crank pulley and 2 belts?
