these attach to the dash:
table has tabs that slide into the above clips. forward edge in this pic:
searched 'dash table' in bay classifieds and found these. |

here's another with it installed. i have one of these that came with my '68, but it had no hardware attached. the PO removed it, and couldn't remember why or where he'd put it.

The table looks great but on a practical level how does thepassenger (presumably ones spouse)climb into th back of the camper to presumably make a coffee, or whatever get back into the front to sit in peacfull coexistance with ones driving compatriot with the table in the way ,or am I being perdantic!! |

there's actually a funny thing in the owners manual about how front table is not to be used while vehicle is in operation.
seeing as how it's directly over the shifter, not really sure how somebody would go about using it while driving anyway.
and even if you did, because you know somebody tried, what would you put on there? coffee? breakfast? a checkerboard? it's made out of a very slidey material.
i like using every strange german innovation that came with our bus but we have yet to figure out a practical application for that thing even when parked. let us know if you do.

People have asked the same question before, and they were serious.

Good question, but if you look at the pic of the installed table in the second post by allthewayalive, you'll see that his bus has an automatic trans... it shifts for itself!

Came in late on this one, here's a good detail shot for mounting the table brackets..
BTW - Looks as though there is a shifter extension here, the image came from a the owner of the Ebay'd table I purchased. _________________ ********************************

Made the table, see pics. and fixed the brackets received from "tubdub"
(thanks again ) only have to make the fixings to go on the table to locate into the brackets. Table I cheated on, its a cut down one from an old Dormobile. Re constructed !
The White side is the side I m going to use, just tried to cover the other side to see what it would look like _________________ "It will soon be Friday" |
