No, they never made a double cab barndoor either.
Thats a pretty cool concept that could have been very usefull, I think vw mabye did that with a lot later transporter.(mabye the eurovan)
You should learn how to post pics http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6

Does a “Barndoor Binz” still exist or did it ever exist? Some people think that you could take a single
cab you bought from VW and drive it to Binz and have them convert it. If that were true, then in theory,
you could take a 53 single cab down to Binz in 1959, and have them convert it. There is only one photo
known to exist of pre-55 Binz, which was obtained from the Binz factory.
Whether that Binz was built in 54 or if it was taken to Binz in 58 or 59 and converted, is unknown. |

I was just daydreaming about what that truck would be worth in that condition today. I'm thinking BIG MONEY! _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS

I am working on that truck as we speak, putting in a new tranny and engine, will be on the road in a couple of weeks...I am working on the patterns for the Binz specific metal right now....the plan is to have it ready for Bulli next year for sure, and if god grants me a miracle, maybe have it ready for the Classic in June.. _________________ that's not patina, that's fucking rust man!!!!

My friend made this one. I chopped down the gates. Its going to look factory.
And he's doing the darn door roof front. As well as the dash.
All it will need is a good slap with a lowering stick. |
I think that would have been a popular vehicle if vw had ever made it, any more pics? _________________ (06:31:07) RoachGhia: "i drink dick way too fast" |

I agree with Krusher, that bus looks good and I'm sure vw missed a move there, funny as they seemed to make just about every other combination _________________ www.musclebus.co.uk
