Alright we are working with a stock 1966 delux microbus here. Back in the engine compartment the wire that runs to the choke has an extra 1/4 inch connector on it about 3inches after the one for the choke. This bus is stock and I am the second owner. The 1st owner wasnt much of a shade tree mechanic so I dont think he added it or replaced the wire with one with an extra connection and besides that it appears to be a factory connection. From the day I got the bus it has been wrapped in electricians tape and the bus is a daily driver (for real) so its not stopping it from driving. I am just curious if it is supposed to do something or if some VW mechanic back in the day replaced the wire half assedly. Coments, suggestions, and questions are welcome.

thanks for reading

sorry I should have mentioned that. It is between the choke connection and the coil connection.

idle cut off is interchangable with idle screw, I've replaced them when the solonoid crapped out and just went with the screw.

Depending on the carb, probably looks something like this ...

On some earlier 30 Pict 1's, the cutoff is on the other side under the choke.

ok, I know it has been a while but here goes.....Turns out that the idle cut off is in fact on the choke side as j.pickens mentioned and has been replaced by the screw type and the 1/4" connector was just left hanging there. I figured this out shortly after the original post but this update is to let you know that I have come across two NOS 6V idle cut off switches and I will install and post pic tomorrow. Thanks again for sharing the knowledge.
