Someone on C.L.F. reported you were a "no show" at the track. Whats up with that?

Now I can upload the build photos.
We did not make it to the track. The last week of the build the engine wasn't ready and we also found the rear suspension/ torsion to have been welded when it was shortened.
I took off work the entire month of october to finish the car but it didn't come together.
I am paying back the sponsors that sent items for the car and will finish the car this winter when I have more money.
At the end the build got way over budget to make the show date. I tried as hard as possible to over each and every obstacle with the build but couldnt get it together in time.
I cant tell you how hard it was to call Nate from PINKS and tell him I couldnt get the car built in time. If you dont think I tried look at the pics above-
THis was the first car I built from the ground up and it was a lot more involved than I thought. Its 95% done and will be finished once I figure out what to do with the rear suspension. Probably go with ladder bars and coil overs. But not 100% sure yet.
As for sponsors
PEEK Performance: Case/ pistons
CIP1.com : Crank, rods, tach
Big Wigs: Drag Wing
Royal Purple: 4 cases oil and 12 crew shirts
Nitrous Express: Wet kit
Everything else was out of my pocket. |

Blah blah, blah blah, blah blah!! Who cares!! UNLESS you are donating your car and if you win, your opponents car to charity. |
OK, I would like for all the people who donated parts to tell us when they get their money for these parts.....smells like a FREE race car to me. STANK from the beginning, new member of Samba in April and started begging parts right from the start. |

Believe it or not the outcome with the current scenario is probably BETTER for the sponsors than it would have been if he would have actually shown up..

If anyone thinks this was a scam call me on my cell phone 205.281.0585 and we will talk directly.
I worked my ass off to build this car and have never scammed anyone. Those involved in this project know that I did everything I could to make this happen. As I said- the only parts donated were
Big Wig: Drag Wing
CIP1.com Crank, rods, tach (only used the tach)
Sway-a-way (30% off racer discount)
Royal Purple- Oil and crew shirts
So I dont see a big SCAM here for some reason? |

Jake, Im with you there 100%....I started racing VWs almost 40 years ago and that show is a BAD joke, has abosutely nothing to do with racing. If it was about racing, similar cars would be classified as such and always run heads up. That Pablum that passes for you give me half a track and Ill run with 6 pounds of air in my left slick and 12 pounds in the other but you have to talk on your cell phone when you shift from 1st to 2nd gear....what bullshit! And, the guy building this car doesnt understant that going racing isnt a RIGHT, its a privelege. If you dont have all the money needed to go fast, go slower until you do! And most important here, DONT build a race car on a time schedule! |

wheel607- you have valid points about building a car without a timeframe and budget limitations
But dont say that I'm trying to scam anyone. If I wanted the easy way out and wanted to scam any sponsors I would have taken the car with welded torsion bars in it.. it would have been a LOT cheaper for me to lose the car than not to race.
All I had to do was show up and make a pass and I could have gotten a nice check from Royal Purple.
That would have been a scam. |

I was right there with Jake when we took it up the old wazzoooo from the same production group.
If every one they booked to do one of thier shows didn't show for a year. It would still not be payback enough for those "No-Good, get rich on other peoples hard work and investments with no investment of your own, Mother F__Kers" You would have to have first hand dealings with them to know what Jake and I are talking about. Beleive me when I say that not being able to make it too the show is far less painfull than showing up and taking the anal stoinking that follows after you get to the show with that bunch of opportunistic self serving bitches who know less about cars than my daughter.

Some cheap advise to anybody reading this thread and wanting to build a race car...........
If you can't afford to open your wallet and pay whatever it cost to build it, you will never be able to afford to race it. It cost far more money to race it, and keep it running then it does to build it.
I have 3 times more money in my F250 and enclosed trailer then I do my 12 second drag Dunebuggy.
I spent more money on travel expenses, gas, entry fee's etc. this year then it cost to build my engine.
Just guessing it cost me around $25 every time I run it down the track, and I made 180 passes this year.
I drove to a track 150 miles away just to be able to pee in the bathroom and go back home because the race was canceled by rain.
But park the bitch in the winners circle and it is worth every dime.
