what kind of beam do you have? is it a narrowed stock beam? almost all aftermarket beams have the shock tower swept towards the back of the bus to give the chock more clearance.
you could try putting a spacer between the shock and the tower at the top. Or weld on tower extensions to bring the top of the shock back and out of the way. _________________ drive your split. |

well youd have to weld on extensions to the shock towers which brought the upper mount back. or you could always shorten the lower shock mount (cut and reweld it).
it looks like it would need to be spaced out quite a ways, but i suppose you could try and make an upper spacer, although that might cause the shock to bind and fail prematurely. _________________ drive your split. |

It's not recommended to run without shocks either. _________________ Anthony

Ive been driving my bus for over a year now,
4" narrowed beam NO shocks.... and unless I could find a REALLY REALLY soft shock I wouldnt even consider them up front. _________________ • Metal Fab & Quality Suspensions, Type I-II-III. Since 2004 •

Somewhere you can search for the answers. Basically, you need to narrow the bottom shock mounts on the trailing arms and put a spacer on the top....kinda a pain bolted in the bus. _________________ ---

I have a 4in beam an run shocks on it. I didnt like the ride without them.
My shocks mounted up just fine also. |

I'm running a 4in beam with white KYB's on it. I like a stiffer ride, though. Rubs/scrapes MUCH less with shocks than without. _________________ -Andrew |

You need to add a spacer some thing like this for the upper shock mount...
This is a lowered bug shock that I use and have no problems with it. Nice soft ride compared to KYB's... and I didn't have to alter the trailing arm any... |

That spacer normally comes WITH the shocks. I think you can buy them separatly at most 4x4 stores too.....try the SEARCH button on the CB Narrowed beam thread and I think Skim posted a picture in there. _________________ I own a copy of "The Car of the Century" by Garwood.
