|
|
I haven't checked my favorite classic car dealer's web site in a few days, and it looks as though I missed out on a beautiful '73 Ghia coupe.
(Not that I seriously could have considered purchasing it anyway.)
Just curious if the buyer was a Samba member? |

That Bill guy always takes piles of pictures, why isn't there one of the passenger side? It really seems that he is hiding it.
- 009 distributor
- Chrome wheels
- No firewall insulation
- extra gauge hacked into the dash
- it looks like someone literally ripped the charcoal canister bracket off, and didn't even bother to close up the holes ??
Its nice, but it its far from perfect. |

There was one pic of the passenger's side, way down near the bottom of the collection.
Looks OK, but you're right - the photos are heavily biased toward the driver's side.
Considering the car is 34ish years old, it's amazing that there aren't more things that have been changed/damaged over the years.
Had I been given the opportunity to choose between the two Ghias two years ago when I bought my '67 from Bill, I probably would've gone for the '73.
Of course, I'd have to compare them side by side in person.
One things fairly certain.......the going price for Ghia coupes just got pushed a little higher.
(I've emailed Bill re the sale price, but he typically gets well above market average.) |

I don't know the price ....yet.
By the time I noticed it on his site, it was already labeled "sold", so I never saw an asking price.
I just emailed him asking what the sale price was, so I'll share that info if and when I find out - unless of course someone here steps ups and admits buying it and does not want the info revealed.
I know when I bought mine from him two years ago, I spotted a reference to a '67 Ghia that would be coming up for sale in the near future, so I quickly emailed and secured the first right of refusal.
It was probably 6-8 weeks before I ever saw pics, and then I agreed to buy it before it ever made it on his web site.
He did list it there, but with a "sold" on it instead of a price.
I suspect this one may have gone in a similar fashion.
Bill seems to have a waiting list of sorts for Ghias, with about half of them ending up selling overseas. |

Actually that seems like a very fair price for that car. Canada huh? I will keep an eye out for it. |
