Here's a few that a fellow samba member did; I cannot remember who it was, but they are good. I particularly like the "BOOM" effect for the tach warning!

I'm pretty sure that was lovdavdubs again. Had several different versions of what to put in that red zone...

his last tach is still the best...

"explain this to me again...
what part of
'BOOM' confused you?..."

oh, and forgot to add...
that's one mod that's definately going on my "To-Do" list...

It needs a 'Governor failed!' somewhere on the Tach face, or a 'Subie, huh?' or 'Now You're Just Showing Off!' or Bill Cosby's immortal, 'Oh, wow!'

Best!

For the vans without tachometers, those are your recommended shift points.

I am currently working on them. I will post pics when I get them worked out. It is not easy to do matte black faces.

No, you'll have to size them down.

Anyone know if someone still makes the polished rings that go around the guages still? I thought I had saved the link, but can't find it anymore.

I have an older 85mph speedo in my 82 A/C and I thought that too... but when I finally put a tach in mine...
Those shift points are WAY OVER 4K ...
Glad I didn't drive it much without a tach... now I do all my shifting at around 4K tops
