So I'm thinking about replacing the vacuum lines. There are original lines and we're talking almost 24 years old. What I was wondering is can I use rubber line or should I use plastic with rubber ends like what's on there now. I have never checked the pressure so in all reality I might not need to even replace them. What would I use to check the pressure anyway? What do you fine folks think.

When in doubt, change them all out.

Buy ones that actually fit from your favorite VW vendor. Do not use SAE hoses unless you absolutley have to.
