I'm away from my book right now. Are you sure thats the engine number? Usually they have two letters in front. Where was this number located? Above the generator/alternator stand?

A Type 122 is an industrial engine.

Industrial engine are designed for running generators, pumps and other things at a steady speed. They are not designed for varying speeds and loads of a car.

I'd assume the cam and carb are different.

ok thanks. Also can you tell me what NFA is? I found this engine case on the net and it says VW bug NFA 40hp engine core
