Is it common, or necessary to port match exhaust to the head?
My intakes are matched to the heads by my head builder. _________________ Phillip Bradfield

I usally check for shitty welds and smooth them out but headers are usally bigger than the head port so no need to match,Madmike _________________ 'Black Ice'Drag Buggy 'Turbo'

Do not open up the exh port of the head. You will make a LOT less hp if you do. The stock port, smoothed but not opened up can flow enough to make over 200 hp. It is NOT a restriction. _________________

Like Bruce said. You actually want the step from the head to the exhaust. If I remember correctly, it helps with the back pressure for the bottom end. Someone else can chime in on this but I know you want to just polish it and not open it up too much. _________________ 57 Ragtop
