When you say BDP - do you mean bus depot. If so I whole heartedly applogize for my comments about Bus Depot.
WOW! How long did it take from the time his order was place to delivery. _________________ Celer, Silens, Letalis

Get an original bumper and have a body man make it like new |
i was rear ended on the way back from moab earlier this year.
4 days later and $200 of insurance money later and it looked better than new. I got it powder coated. It came out beautifully. Find one in a junk yard and have it fixed.
mine turned out great. |
you have any after pics? I have several rear bumpers that are bent but not nearly that bad and would like to get them fixed if possible, but no one seems to want to fix them? _________________ Without love in the dream it will never come true |

2 weeks after beating the absolute hell out of my bumper w/ a hammer, bondoing, & sanding for 5 nights straight in the freezing cold, putting the overriders on & installing it on my bus, the Bus Depot delivered a brand new rear bumper today. I don't really know how I feel about it though. I have pretty much got 25 hrs on that pos that's on it now. The new on, however, has 11 months of waiting on it. I'm not for sure how I'm going to bolt it to my existing brackets. I just wanted to post some pics of it & give others a heads up if you order one...[img]https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/409529.jpg [img]https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/409530.jpg [img]https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/409531.jpg [img]https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/409532.jpg [img]https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/409533.jpg [img]https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/409534.jpg |

Here's a link to that exhaust system TopBud, but it won't work on a '74. I believe this type only works on the triangular flange. Peace!

Wondering if anyone has tried the fiberglas bumpers from either of these sources in the UK?
http://www.riveria-roof-company.co.uk/bumpers.html
http://www.nomorerustybits.com/index_files/Page823.htm
The rear blade on the rustybits site is $147 at the current GBP to USD conversion rate, although I'm not sure what shipping would be. The 3 piece front bumper is $343 in USD. From the photos, both products look like good copies of the originals, plus fiberglas should be a bit lighter (and never rust).

How strong is the fiberglass one from England? That new one also looks like pre-68, My 72 does not have the angled ends. One of these days I will have a re-inforcing bar or pipe put in mine, even a good steel bumper is not very strong against an SUV. Does anyone make a front brush bar for Busses? Like the ones on SUV/ cop car? |
