hello,
I joined samba a year of so ago and have not posted very much. I am started to be able to put some feedback in here now that I am a year into my first bug build. I am a long time street rod builder built a custom bike few years ago. I have excellent fabrication skills and focus mainly on custom fabbing and painting is my specialty. I bought my moms 65 she had for years and added my touches to it. I have since picked up a 68 Ghia and a 57 OVAL!!! yea hard to find in the midwest! I guess you could say I have the "BUG" now.
My question is do you think or is there a need for someone to make i.e. narrow beams, custom VW parts, fabbing in the general KC/ Topeka upper east portion of Kansas? I just dont see much interest around here. All the VW people that I have met look at me like I am some kind of crazy man for making my Vdub look this way. I guess there just is not many crazy SoCal relocaters that like custom VW's..
Am I wrong on this or are you guys out there?? speak up. It would sure be cool to spark some interest from some gear heads.
check out my website. I am building a shop and will be well equipped very soon. |

What d-rick said.
There are quite a few members in the Misosuri/Kansas area. The previously posted thread has quite a few of them posting in it. _________________ Don't delete my posts. |

Hey vw62rag!
How is that 21 window find coming along??? Let me know when everybody gets together. I need to get my 66 out of the garage to blow the dust out of the exhaust. I took the heater boxes out last year (got tired of the exhaust leaks). You guys might check out my new site www.ratemybug.com, I started this up about 3 days ago for people to post pictures of their vws and they can rate other vws. It is like a hot or not site. I only have a few pictures out there right now but you might register and post some pictures of your rides to get things rolling. It is a work in progress as I am teaching myself web developing by trial and error, but not too bad for being a beginner. I hope you check it out and send me a message when everyone gets together!

Representing Emporia.
There's the MoKan club in the Lawrence/KC area. The German Car Club of Kansas in the Salina area. Don't know of anything in the Wichita area but there a some nice VW's down there. _________________ "It'd just be a whole lot cooler if ya did."
