its driving me nuts i rewired the whole car and now the semaphores work even with the car off.. is this normal? ive looked over everything and cant figure it out for the life of me....

anyone??

Mine dont,
I have a euro 1957 that is pretty original. Check this http://www.vwtyp1.com/teknik/elschema/VW%2054.jpg You'll see that it is connected via fuse to the "15" signal (=ignition)

"30" signal is constant +, should not be used for semafores.

when i connect it based on that diagram they do not work.... however if i run a wire from the 15 terminal on the ignition switch then they work, however hooked up to the fuse block i cant get any power with the key to ignition.

have you tried measuring with a multimeter instrument or just connect a lightbulb to the terminal? The semaphores require a LOT of juice (voltage and current) and bad connections (oxide) will lower the voltage significantly (create heat and resistance at all connction points) so that the semis don't work...

check all connection points, clean and use contact protect spray on them!

i got it figured ut guys...i was missing a wire in my wiring kit.... thanks for all the help
