Can you install earlier replacement pans in a 74 std bug?

My pans may need replacing and I'd prefer to go to a lowback seat on earlier rails.

Thanks

Anything special that needs to be modified, or will they drop right in?

Thanks,
Darren

On a 74, you need the pans for a 3 point seat, not the 2 rail seat.

while there is a difference in the shape/depth of the later model pans with the 3 point mounts et al.... they do fit the earlier IF you take off the rear support that comes on the pan and fit them...

see the pics in my gallery on the most recent page...

I have fit both early and late pans on chassis that were "opposite" on occasion that the owner wanted it done that way for the certain style seat tracks.

Check the pans at WW. For shipping reasons, their pans don't have the support pieces or jack pieces welded on. Based on what Keith said, this might be the way to go.
