It almost sounds like you have a ground strap issue or positive battery cable issue with the dying/no electricity issue. Are there headlights the whole time all this is happening? Make sure your belt is tight but not too tight and that you used the spacers to make the adjustment not just removed some. The chirping might also be a loose head.

No there is definately power in the bus. I got headlights, and the warning lights come on when it dies. It's not that I don't have any power, it just sounds like you are cranking on a really dead battery. I mean really dead. Then all of the sudden after a quick break it turns over just fine.

I have some shims in there, its not to tight, just right. I got a straight edge out and made sure it was good. Do you think the sound could be the generator somehow. Maybe the sound is just coming from that. Could there be a bearing on the generator going out.

The other odd thing about the engine is that the main pully is tight when the engine is off, but once it is running, is wobbles all over the place. There is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch movement as it turns around the belt. Kind of looks bad to me.
